ANDERSON, Elizabeth Shaw - Died at home in Eureka on August 15, 2002. Born August 19, 1925 in San Francisco to Dr. and Mrs. Edward Shaw, she was a graduate of the Katherine Delmar Burke School and the UCSF School of Nursing, class of 1948. She worked actively to support the arts and civic causes in Eureka and Humboldt Co. and was a devoted opera afficionado, former board member,Hospice of Humboldt, Docent, Morris Graves Museum of Art, and active parishioner, Vestry and Altar Guild Member at Christ Episcopal Church, Eureka. She taught nursing at Humboldt State University, and retired as director of Infection Control at General Hospital, Eureka. She is survived by her son, James Christian Anderson, of Roseburg Oregon, Daughters, Saralinda Jackson of Oakland, Elizabeth R. Anderson of Sacramento and Abigail Wasetis of Eureka; brother, George Stevenson; sisters, Sally McKee and Jennifer Shaw. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jesse, Malcolm and Brice Jackson, Amy and Avan Curran, Joseph and Julianne Wasetis, Taylor and Justin Diaz and Caitlin Cheek; daughter-in-law Jennie Anderson, sons-in-law Michael Jackson, Charles Curran, and James Wasetis; brothers-in-law Robert Dedekam, Stephen McKee and Nick Nichols; sisters-in-law Barbara Stevenson and Joan Conlan; and by numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Anderson, MD. (1968), infant sons, Eric and Edward Anderson; sister, Mary Dedekam, and by her parents Dr. Edward B. Shaw and Elizabeth Rolph Shaw. Services were held 8/21/02 in Eureka. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morris Graves Museum of Art or Christ Episcopal Church.
