Distribution: Southern British Columbia to central coast and Sierra Nevada of California. Rocky Mountains of Western Montana and Northern Idaho.
Habitat: Moist enviorment in foothills and mountains. Under objects where there is lots of cover.
Special Adaptations: The tail is readily lost.
Reproduction: Live bearing, anywhere from 2 to 15 young.
Diet: Insects, spiders, millipeds, snails.
