2 2/3 pounds lean ground beef
l/4 cup sour cream
1 T minced fresh thyme or 1 t dried crumbled
1 T minced fresh parsley
2 t minced fresh rosemary or l/4 t dried crumbled
3/4 t pepper
8 hamburger buns
Grilled Red Onions (see recipe)
Three-pepper Catsup (see recipe)
Thoroughly combine first 6 ingredients in medium bowl.
Shape beef mixture into 8 1 inch think patties. Cover and chill at
least 1 hour and up to 8 hours.
Prepare barbecue (medium-high heat). Place burgers on
grill. Cover grill and cook burgers 4 minutes. Turn burgers. Cover
grill and cook burgers to desired doneness, about 4 minutes for
medium-rare. Grill buns, cuty side down, during last 2 minutes if desired.
Arrange burgers on bottom halves of buns. Cover
burgers with bun tops and serve with Grilled Red Onions and
GRILLED RED ONIONS
4 medium red onions
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
2 T balsamic vinegar5 or red wine vinegar
2 T soy sauce
2 T olive oil
3/4 t pepper
Cut l/4 inch slice off top and bottom of ech onion and
discard. Cut onions in half crosswise. Arrange onions in single layer
in shallow dish. Whisk
Worcestershire, vinegar, soy sauce and oil in bowl.
Pour over onions and let stand at room temperature l hour, basting occasionally.
Prepare barbecue (medium-high heat). Arrange onions on
grill. Cover grill and cook onions until brown, basting occasionally,
about 4 minutes per side. Using large spatula, transfer onions to
platter. Season with pepper.
